  Recently, the International Association for Plant Taxonomy (IAPT) voted to elect the members of councilor committee. Professor Dr. ZHANG Xianchun from the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences was elected as new councilor.

  The 2nd Chinese National Committee for DIVERSITAS and the 5th Biodiversity Committee, Chinese Academy of Sciences Established

  The ceremony for establishment of the 2nd Chinese National Committee for DIVERSITAS (CNC-DIVERSITAS) and the 5th Biodiversity Committee, Chinese Academy of Sciences (BC-CAS) was held on March 30th, 2011. Sixty-four committee members from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Environmental Protection, National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC), Ministry of Education, Ministry of Agriculture, State Forestry Administration, State Oceanic Administration, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences, universities and research institutions attended the ceremony.

  Just recently, Dr Dilip Kumar Biswas, the former PhD Student from Institute of Botany of Chinese Academy of Sciences (IOB), now the staff from a Canadian Institute of Agriculture Science, received a congratulation letter from Professors Steve Long and Rachel Shekar, the editors of Global Change Biology (GCB), who congratulated Dr Biswas on his contributions to the development of GCB.
