Philippe Gallusci is a full Professor at the University of Bordeaux, France. He serves as the Deputy Director of the Ecophysiology and Genomics of Fruit and Vegetables (EGFV), Grapevine and Wine Sciences Institute (ISVV), the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAe). He is also a expert in the CAS President's International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI).

Professor Gallusci has long been dedicated to deciphering the regulatory functions of epigenetic mechanisms in plant development and environmental adaptation. Using tomato and grapevine as models, he has achieved breakthrough results in the epigenetic regulation of fruit ripening, plant stress memory, and grafting interactions. His team pioneered the revelation of the critical "switch" roles played by DNA methylation and Polycomb proteins in regulating tomato fruit ripening and grape quality formation. He has published over 60 papers in prestigious international journals such as Trends in Plant Science, PNAS, and Plant Physiology.
