Grape Germplasm Exploration and Genetic Improvement
Introduction
He acquired a Ph.D in China Agricultural University, and has been engaged in grape research for more than 20 years in IBCAS. He has achieved accomplishments in the following areas: germplasm resource evaluation; mining and regulatory mechanism elucidation of key genes underlying grape stress tolerance (high temperature) and secondary metabolite biosynthesis (resveratrol); breeding of new grape varieties; and development of supporting cultivation and winemaking technologies.
Publications
He has presided over 9 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (including 2 key projects), as well as more than 10 national key R&D programs and other projects. He has published nearly 60 papers as first author or corresponding author in prestigious journals including Nature Communications, The Plant Cell, Plant Physiology, Food Chemistry, and Journal of Experimental Botany. He has also served as associate editor or contributor for 6 professional books on pomology. As a key contributor, he has participated in breeding 13 new grape varieties, and has been awarded 1 First Prize of the 3rd National "Liang Xi Young Scientists Paper Award" and 3 provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological awards.
