Nov 12, 2004
A awarding ceremony for the 2004 Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Prize for S&T Progress was held on Nov. 11 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Of the 49 winners across Chinese mainland, who are selected from 225 eligible candidates to each receive 200,000 Hong Kong dollars, 16 are from CAS.
The Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation, which was set up in Hong Kong in 1994, awards Chinese scientists annually in two categories, the Science and Technology Achievement Prize and the Science and Technology Progress Prize. The latter is awarded to Chinese scientists who made important inventions, discoveries or research results in natural sciences, especially in recent years.
