Big Data and AI Biodiversity Conservation Research Center
In February 2024, IBCAS established the Big Data and AI Biodiversity Conservation Research Center.
The Center was formed by integrating the Plant Science Data Center with several foundational databases and network platforms, including the National Specimen Information Infrastructure (NSII), the Subject Database of Chinese Plants (SDCP), the Biodiversity Heritage Library (BHL) China Node, and the Chinese Field Herbarium (CFH).
Mission and Objectives:
The Center is dedicated to big-data-driven botanical research, biodiversity conservation, and the sustainable utilization of plant resources.
Key objectives include:
- Developing a spatio-temporal, multi-dimensional big data platform.
- Advancing AI-driven technologies for biodiversity conservation.
- Ensuring the security of biological resources.
- Supporting the management of national forests and grasslands.
- Assisting in the development of the National Botanical Garden System.
