The library covers 1 325.18 m2 and comprises a main stack room, a periodical reading room, an electronic reading room, and a loan desk. The library has a large and comprehensive collection of books and periodicals in various research fields of botany, such as plant taxonomy, plant ecology, paleobotany, plant physiology, plant cell biology, and plant molecular biology. At present, the library’s total holdings have reached 300 000 volumes/items, and it has an average of 40,000 visitors per year. With the integration of modern technology, the library can now provide automatic management in every aspect. The library also keeps publication exchange programs with libraries in more than 30 countries. In 2008, 1,558 books and 4,983 journals were added. Besides these additions, we subscribe to dozens of academic electronic databases, which can satisfy the user’s needs.
