The National Research Station for Ordos Grassland Ecosystem (OGES, 39°29′37.6″N110°11′9.4″E1300 m) is located in Yijinhuoluo County, Inner Mongolia, and is about 37 km away from the Ordos Airport. The OGES is a member of CERN and is also among the national ecosystem research stations. The representative ecosystems featured by OGES are warm grassland ecosystems. The OGES now has a multi-function building of 2000 m2, an experimental area of 1333 hm2, a set of monitoring equipment, a speedy network with 2 M flux, and two jeeps. Thus, OGES is an ideal platform for ecological research, monitoring, demonstration, and outreach.

In 2007, the OGES was successful in conducting all monitoring projects of the CERN and national stations and served 116 researchers from all over China.

During July 8-11, 2008, OGES successfully hosted an international training funded by the Department of Commerce of China.

On August 4, 2008, Academician Bai Chunli, the deputy Minister of the CAS, and Lian Ji, the deputy governor of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, visited OGES and observed the staff of the OGES.
