The Beijing Forest Ecosystem Research Station (BFERS) is situated in Donglingshan Mountain of the Mentougou District of Beijing City, at 39°58'N115°26'Elocated in Xiao Long Men National Forest Gardenabout 114 km from downtown Beijing. BFERS is in the central area of the warm temperate zone of China, occupying 16600 ha.

In 2008, the research object of BFERS was the zone typical forest. The long-term observation of water, soil, atmosphere and biological factors is continuing in the warm temperate forest ecosystem. Quality assurance and control handbooks of the observation of four factors have been completed. We integrated controlled testing and ecosystem modeling to study the effect of global change on ecosystem structure and function in the warm temperate forest. Simultaneously, we exerted the value of the wild-station platform to communicate and collaborate with graduate schools and universities at home and abroad.
