The Duolun Experimentation & Demonstration Research Station of Restoration Ecology, IOB, CAS
The station emphasizes basic research into restoration ecology for degrading ecosystems and demonstrative extensions in agro-pastoral areas. Its main task is to acertain damaging mechanisms, seek a restoring and reconstructing approach, produce an optimized ecologically productive paradigm for typical degraded ecosystems, and develop or create effective techniques for the restoration and reconstruction of sandy vegetation for the rehabilitation of degraded grasslands and renovation of damaged agricultural ecosystems through long-term positioned ecological observation and field experiments. Therefore, the station is dedicated to offer theoretical guidance, technical support and a classical model for the comprehensive management of the eco-environment of the region and, finally, improve the regional eco-environmental construction and sustainable development of the society and economics. The station published 15 papers in 2008, including 14 SCI papers and 1 CSCD papers.
Participants in the International Training Course for the Establishment and Management of Field Research Stations visited the research field.
Dr.Wan Shi-Qiang give a lesson.
