Dongwu Grassland Ecosystem Protection and Management Research Station (the Dongwu station), IOB, CAS, was officially established in early 2004, with great support from the county government of Dongwu and the leaders at IOB. Dongwu station is located at the northeastern part of the Xiligol League and borders Mongolia. The director of IOB and the president of the Dongwu local government signed a supplemental agreement on the management and running of the station and thus settled most of the remaining issues. The key research focus of Dongwu station is sustainable management of grazed grassland ecosystems, particularly possible changes in ecosystem structure and function, as well as sustainable development in the region under the interactive influences of grazing and global change factors. The station has an office and laboratory building, several expert apartments and other supporting facilities. At present, Dongwu station has made almost all preparations for research. All pertinent researchers are welcome.
