In 2007, IOB achieved significant results in obtaining research grants. As a leading institution in the research projects, IOB obtained 79 important national scientific and technological grants, including 1 national key project and 1 large scientific research grant in the "863" program, 4 secondary and higher projects in the "973" program, 1 scientific and technological platform project , 3 special subject projects of the "863" program, 1 program and 2 projects of the scientific and technological supporting plan, 8 important direction projects of CAS and 47 NSFC projects, of which 2 were key projects, 3 were "National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars." and 36 were general projects. The total funds of these projects based on contracts reached 163 M yuan, with 122M yuan going to IOB.
In 2007, IOB published 440 papers, among which 257 were SCI-listed and 158 were CSCD-listed, 112 were published in the top 30% of SCI journals in specialized categories, 8 with an IF higher than 9.0 and 102 with an IF higher than 2.0; in addition, in 2007, IOB published 15 monographs and filed 15 patents, and 21 patents were licensed. Three new grape varieties were approved by the Beijing New Variety Examination and Approval Committee.
According to the "Chinese Statistics of the Scientific and Technological Theses Published in 2006," released in 2007, of 5 categories, IOB ranked in the top 20 of all research institutions in China, including 4th place in "frequency of domestic papers of research institutions," 10th place in "research institutions that published a large number of biological SCI papers in 2006," 10th place in "accumulated citation frequency of SCI papers of research institutions from 1997-2006," 18th place in "amount of SCI papers of research institutions in 2006" and 19th place in "amount of cited international published papers of research institutions in 2006."
