ABCDNet (Asia Biodiversity Conservation and Database Network) was established during the first workshop on Biodiversity Data Sharing Environment in Asia. After its establishment, ABCDNet made a great effort on Asia Biodiversity Informatics: the website was on line, Asia Species Database and Asia Red List Database were developed, biodiversity related news was sharing among participants.
To further complete the ABCDNet governance, promote Asia Biodiversity sharing and attract more organizations to join ABCDNet, the Second Workshop on Biodiversity Data Sharing Environment in Asia will be held on April 10-12, 2014, in Haikou, Hainan Province, China. During the workshop, important documents such as membership policy, data sharing policy and the memorandum of understanding for ABCDNet will be discussed; the governance structure such as scientific committee and steering committee will be discussed too.
