Professor Keping Ma from the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences was elected as the Vice-Chair of Asian Regional Committee, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) on November 3rd, 2014, to recognize his great contribution to the development of biodiversity research and to the committee.
IUCN is the world’s oldest and largest global environmental organization. The central mission is biodiversity conservation. The Asian Regional Committee was founed in 2011 to support the work of IUCN in Asian countries.
