A comprehensive display model of carbon cycle mechanism was exhibited in activities to mark the National Science Popularization Day in Beijing on Sep.18.
The model, developed by Dr. JIANG Lianhe from Institute of Botany under Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave a vivid demonstration of the mechanism of carbon cycling in the natural world by technologies of sound, light and electricity.
The role of marine ecosystems, terrestrial ecosystems, biosphere, the atmosphere, lithosphere and human activities in the process of carbon cycling were presented, showing the negative impact of the great consumption of mineral fuel of humans on the global carbon cycling.
The exhibition of the model has aroused people’s awareness of low-carbon life and green economy through interactive public engagement and has been selected for a national circuit exhibition.
