At the beginning of 2010, Prof. Hongzhi Kong, was appointed to editoral board of journal of New Phytologist. He was also the first Asian scientist in the editorial board.
New Phytologist is a leading international journal that offers rapid publication of high-quality original research on all aspects of plant science. Excess revenue from sales of the journal are used to facilitate research and scholarship in plant science, in particular, through the organization of symposia to open access for our Tansley reviews. In 2008, New Phytologist rank 8 in the 152 ISI plant science journals with Impact factor 5.178.
Prof. Hongzhi Kong is the principle investigator of The Group Evolutionary Developmental Genetics and Regulatory Genomics in Institute of Botany, CAS. His research interests are as follows: Evolutionary Developmental Genetics (Evo-Devo); regulatory Genomics; Bioinformatics; Molecular Evolution and Phylogenetics; Molecular Biogeography; Basal Angiosperms; Basal Eudicots; Chloranthaceae; Ranunculaceae.
