CAS Vice President Li Jinghai and Mr. Nobuyuki Idei signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the two organization

CAS President Lu Yongxiang met with Chairman of Sony Corporation Nobuyuki Idei on Nov. 11 in Beijing. Assuming the responsibility of leading S&T development for China's development, CAS gives priority to both S&T innovation and rules of the market economy, said President Lu. Owing to the wide spectrum and rapid development of modern technology, a research organization alone will not be capable to tackle the issues in all the fields, he noted. CAS is delighted to conduct cooperative research with Sony, a world pioneer in home and professional audio and video products, telecommunications, and information technology. Being the largest national research institution in China, said Mr. Nobuyuki Idei, CAS pools many outstanding research professionals to conduct technological development as well as basic research. He expressed his belief that the cooperation between the two sides will score rich achievements through complementing each other¡¯s advantages. After the meeting, CAS Vice President Li Jinghai and Mr. Nobuyuki Idei signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the two organizations in the fields of information technology, network communication, materials, bio-engineering and electronics.
